Hadji Girl

Here’s a nice little ditty* (thanks Elizabeth!) from a talented Marine. He sings a song about “Hadji girl” to a crowd of fellow Marines. I got this video in an email from a friend; you may find it floating around over the next couple days. (scroll down a little and you’ll see an image)

Mainstream Media Disgrace of the Month: Hadji Girl

Is it offensive? I dont think so. Compared to some of the internet videos militant islam has been producing; I thought it was rather nice.

I’ve pasted the lyrics below:

Hadji girl

I was out in the sands of Iraq, and we were under attack, and I didn’t know where to go.

Then the first thing that I see is everybody spray painting BurgerKing so I threw open the door and I hit the floor.

And suddenly to my suprise, I looked up and I saw her eyes and I knew it was love at first sight. And she said: Dirka dirka Muhammed jihad. shurpa shurpa bakala. Hadji girl I can’t understand what you say?

And she said: Dirka dirka Muhammed jihad. shurpa shurpa bakala. Hadji girl I love you anyway

And she said she wanted me to seeShe wanted my to go meet her family And I, I couldn’t figure out how to say No, Cause I dont speak Arabic, so.

She took me down an old dirt trail And we pulled up at the side shanty And she threw open the door And I hit the floor Cuz her brother and her father shot her.

Dirka dirka Muhammed jihad shurpa shurpa bakala they pulled out their AKs so I could see

and they said Dirka dirka Muhammed jihad shurpa shurpa bakala so I grabbed her little sister and put her in front of me.

As the bullets began to fly the blood sprayed from between her eyes and then I laughed maniacally

then I hid behind the TV and I locked and loaded my M16

I blew those little fuckers to eternity

And I said Dirka dirka Muhammed jihad surpa surpa bakala

they shoulda known they were fuckin with a Marine

  • You're about two years behind the power curve Shem.

As far as the world being cruel and insensitive, welcome to the world. It's always been cruel and insensitive.
  • Shem
This is not only insensitive, but just plain cruel. Have a heart people. You're talking about young girls being shot to death by their fathers and laughing about it. I understand the singer probably think the same about these dumbass jihadis who actually think they're fighing a "holy" war, but two wrongs don't bring back any dead marine's either. Obviously he's not a part of the solution, at least he can stop contributing to the problem!

I think what is really hurting the corps is the libs clsoing down this morale boosting site which really helped people let of steam anonymously:

    http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005/09/us-sold...
(caution this is a site about the war as seen on the front line)

If the website discussed were still up this problem might never have occured. And if anything , I think the song, even with the correct lyrics, shows less direspect to Iraqi civilains in comparison. So thats why we should stay the course, because at this rate it will only take a few centuries before we start actually doing the surviving Hadjis some good.

OMG no he didnt but he did! BWAHAHAH great song outa get a grammy for man! And as for the rest of the liberal tree huggers go suck your thumb. Semper Fi!

Right and broadcasting the beheading of Americans is so PC? Leave the guy alone, maybe he was just trying to releave some stress and tension. After putting their life on the line everyday they are entitled to a little fun. Stop being a bunch of hippies!
  • My wife found the video distasteful too, if it makes any difference, but she didn't think anyone should be punished over a song. Neither do I.
  • The Marine Corps is the same as it has always been - a mix of different people from different backgrounds with different personalities and different outlooks on life all with a common focus - defending Americans from external aggressors.

All of them are subject to a code of conduct and rules of engagement.
  • Well, the Marine Corps must have deteriorated. I used to sleep with a Marine on a regular basis, and although I eventually decided he wasn't really a nice person, he wasn't stupid or a racist either. He never would have written a song like that or listened to it.

Yep, The only thing I really have to say is that every Marine I know loves this song. And if you don't understand the song, or "Think it's really mean" (tear) You have never been shot at either. I really can't even begin to explain the mentality of the type of person that wants to be a marine. We kill things. We spend 13 weeks at boot camp running around, getting hazed (training), and yelling "KILL" at the top of our lungs every time a command is given. "prepare to hit the rack, ready- MOVE" all of us "KILL". Thats the short version, we kill things, think its funny, its how we blow off steam. Its not what we do, its who we are, and we are damn proud of it.

And for all of you whining liberal hippies who say violence never solved anything.......Worked pretty well in WWII. So I guess we shouldn't have went into Europe since they didn't attack us, we should have just stopped with Japan.... Right, keep telling yourselves that... oh ya, YAT-YAS, and Semper Fildelis to all my brothers doing what they do in the sandbox.

Shameless drivel, I agree. Disrespectful, I agree. Ghoulish humor, you bet. Criminal? Nope. But disgusting sums it up.

We used to call this black humor, but now I suppose people think color adjectives are racist. They probably think that the use of the word "color" without the word "crayon" next to it is racist, too.

However, when an occupying force has representatives that support demeaning and deleterious messages, that of itself is abhorrent and should be condemned not defended.

Without a doubt, a Marine magnum opus. Semper fi.
  • Elizabeth,

I wouldn't live anywhere that people take themselves that seriously. That's ridiculous. If anyone wants to come sit at the top of my driveway and sing songs about me for stress relief, they're welcome to it. I am not going to "dispose of any bodies" until the person threatens me with physical harm and I'm convinced that they mean it. A man playing a guitar isn't generally in a position to attack anyone. This Marine was not standing on a street corner taunting anyone, which is what you are suggesting he should go do. He was at a function for Marines.

He is a Marine, not a politician. He is a Marine, not a diplomat. His job, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, is to kill people who his country tells him to kill, when they tell him to kill those people. He must follow his rules of engagement, but he is not a robot, nor can he be perfect and meet every expectation every one of us has for him.

Men who spend their time training to kill other men must by nature be somewhat inured to death or they will go crazy. I'm sure in a perfect world there would be no war, and everyone would sing and hold hands and never be insulted and never have to deal with anything unpleasant.

Let's keep this in perspective though. It's a song. No one was hurt. Let it go.
  • Elizabeth; excuse me for being so terse but.. you\'re full of it.

I see the craziest of crazy everytime Im in NYC and no one even bats an eyelash. \"Dispose of your body so fast...\" lol that was cute. Like people have nothing better to do.

That\'s all this is Elizabeth; a satiracal song by a US Marine. I know you\'d love this to be an epic debate over political correctness; but I think you\'re really stretching it.

Lighten up Elizabeth. These people are under a lot stress and nothing helps deflate a bad situation better than a little humor. Try it sometime; it might help.
  • "Elizabeth, that fact that you cannot sing an offensive song in Baghdad without being attacked is part of the problem in Iraq and the Middle East as a whole"

Ok, I've changed my dare to Shane: Shane, go sing a song about killing black people and laughing about it while standing on Fulton Street in downtown Brooklyn on a Saturday afternoon, unarmed.

    Or:

Go sing a song insulting Italian Americans while standing outside a restaurant (I'll direct you to the right restaurant) in Howard Beach, Queens, while unarmed. They'll dispose of your body so fast, no one will know what happened to you.

I've had this video for months, it is not new...now because the PC police got hold of it, it should be a CRIME!!! Well boo f'n hoo. These 'little ditties' have been around in our military forever...has anybody ever listened to the guys while they march? Tasteless, maybe. So what! I find most of the stuff Barbra Steisand says tasteless but I don't think she should go to jail. Years ago when these songs were sang it was considered an outlet for stress and nobody made a big deal of it. I'm totally sick of all the PC bs while the same people claim to support the military.
  • Tasteless? Easy to say when you haven\'t been shot at. I\'d rather hear Marines singing an infantile song for stress relief than any alternatives I can think of.

This Marine is being investigated. It seems to me we\'re in the realm of thoughtcrime now. Which is garbage. It\'s a song. No one died while he was singing it.

It was a dumb move putting it in the Internet for all the armchair judges to debate over, but maybe we need the debate. Should this Marine be punished? I don\'t think so.

Elizabeth, that fact that you cannot sing an offensive song in Baghdad without being attacked is part of the problem in Iraq and the Middle East as a whole. You don\'t get to kill people who offend you. In the U.S. there are all kinds of retarded songs sung every day. No one usually dies or goes to jail over bad taste. I\'m not even sure this is bad taste. The reality is these guys live in a different world and I\'m not willing to condemn them for \"insenstivity.\" The world is an insenstive place, and I want their survival skills strong.

Unless an actual unjustified killing occurred (and there is no indicator of such), I think we should stay focused on the problems between Shia and Sunni and the larger problems in the region. A song is a song, even if you don\'t like it.
  • Yeah...completely tasteless.
  • George
We've been at war almost four years now and the longer we are at war the more we lose our humanity. It is now acceptable to laugh at little girls being shot to death. Widows of 9/11 victims are made fun of. Prisoners who commit suicide in Guantanamo Bay are waging "asymmetric warfare" on us.

Let's get out of Iraq before this war drives us all totally insane.
  • Shane: Please go sing this "nice" ditty, in an Arabic translation, in the middle of a crowded Baghdad marketplace. Leave your weapon in the Humvee.
  • Oh by the way, Shane, I think you meant "ditty."
  • This is beyond stupid. "Talented" Marine? "Nice"? It's not so much racist as it is infantile. It's like something a 4th grader would write.
