Blogger to craven diplomats: suck it

CNN is reporting that Washington diplomats are complaining about a policy that may force them to choose between serving in Iraq or losing their jobs. Poor babies. Grow up.

Calling it “a potential death sentence,” several hundred diplomats expressed their resentment Wednesday over a new State Department policy that could force them to serve in Iraq or risk losing their jobs.

I guess all these idiots thought they were signing up for a paid vacation at Sandals or Club Med. The arrogance of the American bureaucrat class never ceases to amaze me. If you little shits want to make decisions about foreign policy then you should live the consequences of those decisions. I think it’s great that you’re being forced to get up close and personal. Maybe we’ll be less likely to fight wars when our State Department is filled with people who have lived war. Walk away from your career if you don’t like the policy. I could care less. Just quit whining.

    Yep

State Department employees want to play it safe while the DOD, military and contractors are in the hot seat.

Screw em Trevor. The State Department were richard craniums when I worked with them in Germany back in 1991-1993 and I will lay odds they still are that way today.

As Government employees they have to swear a oath to serve in their position to the best of their ability under the Constitution.. If they want to be this way.. guess thats a new career path for them.. find employment elsewhere.

I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen you moved to profanity before, Trevor. In this case, though, I understand and agree 112%.

I can’t believe the woman who complained about post-traumatic stress disorder. From a paper cut, or what?

I never heard of richard cranium before. Does that mean that they suffered from a recto-cranial inversion?

Hmmm.. I was referencing that they were related to an opposite of man named Richard.. bit I digress

Actually the whole story gives me Optical Rectitis on the State Department.. But you might have something with they have recto-cranial inversion syndrome.

Wherein lies the problem. The State Department needs to be more involved in the rebuilding and reconciliation in Iraq than the military is. But if the people aren’t there to do the job, it ain’t going to get done.

These people remind me of those soldiers who suddenly were anti-war when it came time to be sent to a war. Did it not occur to them that they were joining the army, and that armies fight wars?

    Very True Dr. Camplin.

Before I retired.. I met many in the military that suddenly were anti-war when they were presented with a real threat to deploy them to a possible trouble spot. Or Even about the present conflict. When reminded that they swore a oath to follow orders.. most of them balked that they did not think it applied to this conflict.. it was a sad thing to see. Most got reminded real quickly by SNCO’s and officers that this was not the case.

I even met some die hard devil may care troops who claim they liked Michael Moore. But then they learned that what he presented and the truth were two different animals. I am refering to inaccuracies in Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit
9/11. Suddenly, I had to counsel them about bitching about him so loudly.

Ah, yes, Michael Moore. Quite the postmodern artist — who else can put two facts right next to each other and create a falsehood in the minds of his viewers? (Well, Al Gore can, as I point out on my blog.)
