Bloggers can influence people?

Hell, all this time, I’ve been writing just because I care. Now I learn from Bump in the Beltway that I can influence people.

Carol Darr, director of George Washington University’s Institute for politics, democracy and the Internet, said those who read and write blogs aren’t “the sad, the mad and the lonely.” Rather, research shows they tend to be people able to influence others, she said.”

Well, maybe, but only if I change my blog to an “online magazine.” Rumor has it that if I don’t, I might become a criminal soon. Oh my! That’s terrible. Wonder if I’ll be able to blog from prison?

Thanks for nothing, McCain/Feingold. Please go fuck yourself. I would like to encourage anyone who comes across this blog entry not to vote for shady politicians like John McCain and Russ Feingold, because the pieces of shit will step all over your first amendment rights. The FEC is an abomination that should be dissolved.

Did I influence anyone?

  • I don't usually get that upset, I try to be professional, but sometimes I get passionate. When it comes to my freedom, I feel pretty strongly.

I used to respect John McCain, he served our country proudly in the military, and I respected him for that, but he is increasingly proving himself to be an authoritarian interested in increasing the role of government in making decisions for me. I don't like that at all, and I don't understand how a veteran who sacrificed so much for my freedoms can be so willing to take them away.

A government making rules about what you can say in the days leading up to an election that determines who will be leading that same government is wrong and dangerous. If someone tells me I can't speak freely about politicians, well, then I don't live in a free country.

And by God, I am going to either live free or die trying.
  • Please go fuck yourself? Gee, we're going to have to work on your repression and teach you how to let it out. LOL
  • I am already a Candadian citizen. I was born there.

    I'm also a U.S. Citizen. I immigrated here.

In Canada, if you say anything bad about gay people, or other protected groups, you can go to jail. That's censorship too.

So I suppose both countries have serious issues with free speech.

greentomaple.comMy new plan would make jail moot. It's to start the website,

    www.greentomaple.com

In it, I will counsel soldiers on the necessary procedures to gain Canadian citizenship.

    Haha! Just joking.

    Or am I?

Couldn't read the FEC document. Stupid public computers that don't have a .pdf reader.

There are two sides to a Kandinsky...
  • I agree with what you just said. I also wonder if I can keep a blog from prison, I will try to find that out, I would hate to be arrested for using my first amendment right and then have my blog shut down, if I cannot run my blog I will transfer it over to some unidentified friends who will post under my name.
