Cindy Sheehan is an embarassment to her son’s memory

Cindy Sheehan has every right to make a fool of herself. She is certainly justified in asking questions about her son’s death in Iraq. President Bush does have an obligation to explain why we are fighting in Iraq. But he already has.

I’m not sure what Ms. Sheehan’s ultimate goal is, but right now she’s acting as a foci for every left-wing nutjob in the country. I happened to be in line at the grocery store the other day. My cashier was an Iraqi Turkmen and I was having a conversation about Iraq with her. Some lady in front of me decided to blurt out her opinions of the war and then prattled on about how she was considering joining Cindy on her camping trip. Being a polite type, I just listened. Internally, I was thinking, whatever, you nut job. Ignorance is everywhere.

I’ve asked my wife, should I die while in Iraq, that she not politicize my death. She just rolled her eyes. She’s not the camping evangelist type.

Yep.. its her right to act like a fool. The problem is.. all the news media are fawning all over themselves to support her efforts.

Emotionalism is getting in the way of rational thought. There is not not a person today that has been drafted into the military, its a all volunteer force. Her son joined and was serving honorably. Unfortunately he lost his life in Iraq. His mother is now trying to incited change with her emotions of the loss.

Before anyone tears into me.. do not get me wrong. I am not all that confident in the reason this country went into Iraq even before it started the campaign. But being in the military myself. But I have been in long enough to know that if the National Command Authority tells me that I have to go somewhere in a conflict.. Well I do my upmost to serve in that capacity. Despite my personal feelings or opinions.

With the insurggents still trying their best to kill Americans in that region. The Liberal and anti-war crowed are going to make polictical hay over every death. Mrs. Sheehan has discovered a soap box that the media is exploiting heavily. If only she would realize how much that makes her sons death to become something trivial, that will be forgotten in about a week or so…

I agree that she has the right to protest and ask questions but we also need to remember he volunteered and was not forced into service.
