Labs from my experience can handle small kids well, and Willow is more like a 2 1/2 yr old kid, and do a good job of understanding their place in a "pack"/family. But if you have 17 please let me know what you have and what you think would do well in a loving family that might already have a "queen bee" (and I mean Willow not my wife). We've been considering Dog adoption for some time but this would be more to us than adoption considering my, albeit brief, time with Trevor in Iraq. The bond between dog and man is strong, but the bond between brothers in arms is stronger and I can solidify both those bonds. We want another dog and by an happenstance you rescue them. Send me an e-mail and let's talk. We would like to add another member of our family and it sounds like you might have that. Let me know what you have, I'll run it by the wife but the particular story with this case is very compelling. Yes, if we HAVE to, we will keep Beauty indefinitely, but we already have 17 rescues here. As much as we grow to love each one, we want some to find forever homes where they can get the one-on-one love and attention all dogs crave. We can give the 17 here food, shelter, care and "some" love, but nowhere near what they crave to live a happy "doggie" life. Soooo. ... any serious adoption inquiries are considered. I just wanted to mention that I did take her to the vet. He gave antibiotics and a 2 week regime I have to follow of cleansing and packing her woulnd with gauze, along with treating her skin and taking care of her parasites and ticks, etc. This is the Wife.
