Karaoke Night at the Embassy and other videos

I was sick yesterday. I’m getting better. Iraqi flu is about the same as American flu, from what I can tell.

Presented for your viewing pleasure, I have some new footage:

Spookytooth Crossword Puzzle
– Spookytooth shows us how he earns his bread and butter and what real war is all about.

Hi Amber
– Sgt. James Sherrill says hello to his wife back home.

Karaoke Night at the Embassy – Members of my unit sing for your edification.

Despite the daily incidents around this city and nation, the above videos are intended to show you that your troops are leading out our lives without fear, that we are doing the jobs we came here to do. Sometimes these can even be mundane. Contrast American warriors with an insurgency murdererer and then ask yourself who you would rather have in charge.

This is war people, and there are moral differences between the two sides. Remember that, because people seem to be confused here lately about who the good guys are.

  • Christmas, a great American Tradition

Christmas is as American as apple pie. That said we all know this cherished American Holiday is to Christians a very Holy Day, the day the Christian Savior, Jesus Christ was born 2005 years ago.

Christmas is a time of year when all Americans celebrate the spirit of giving, loving, and caring. For non-Christian Americans, Christmas is a time to celebrate the land of the free, the home of the brave, and one nation under God. It’s a time when all Americans can cheerfully say “Merry Christmas”, enjoying family fun and neighbors reaching out to neighbors. It’s a time for being thankful to live in this, the greatest country on earth, and in the spirit of the season, celebrate the American Family. It’s the season for giving, and a time when Americans thankful for their prosperity share with those who are in need.

Christmas belongs to all Americans, regardless of religious belief. It’s a season full of joy. The song, “White Christmas” is undoubtedly one of the most famous and popular of all Christmas songs. The lyrics of “White Christmas” struck a chord with the troops fighting in the Second World War and their families who were waiting for them back home.

This Christmas of 2005 all Americans should take the time to say a prayer for our troops serving in the armed forces, especially those who are serving in harms way. When you encounter a member of the armed forces, please take a moment to thank them for their service. Let’s remember that the troops’ commitment to serve has provided the American people with the freedom we have shared for more than 200 years. All Americans should hold a special place in our hearts for America’s troops.

Have a Merry Christmas and God Bless America.

    Sincerely,

    Bob Zimmerman, President

  • OK honey, next time I'll sing. But not Meatloaf songs.
  • Barb
Trevor, next time I want to see you up there singing. :) Remember that Meatloaf song about doing it by the dashboard light? That would be a fun one to sing. When Vikki and I were in Europe and missing the food and coffee we were used to here at home, we played that song and sang it as loud as we could. :) Odd, but it reminded us of home.
