Palestine confounds me

How do you negotiate with a nation of people who are uninterested in being reasonable?

Imagine if Mexico had an election in which the political party that won had the stated goal of destroying wiping the United States from the world map. Israel is facing that exact situation today with Palestine.

What sort of diplomacy options are left in such a ridiculous situation? We will all have to stay tuned. This isn’t a positive development.

    That’s too weak an analogy.

Israel is also tiny, surrounded and outnumbered.

And Palestinians have already been slaughtering Israeli civilians with the world more-or-less blaming Israel.

  3. Kitanis says:

The World blaming Israel is mainly due to liberal concept of no violence…And the “tact” anti-semitic feelings towards that nation because of Poltiical Correctness re-writting history.

Isreal has had a history of also initiating violence against the Palistinians. But Because the State of Israel has won past conflicts (Mostly at the hands of the Arab Leaque and with the Palestinians helping) the leftist’s want to make the world believe that it was wars of agression at the hands of Israel itself.

The sad part about it is.. Too Many of them do not want others to look at history as it occured.. They wish to convince everyone on a Agenda that Israel itself is Racist towards the Palenstinians. Its Partly true.. but Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza area is due to a out and out war.. not a race hating conflict of agression.

Hamas, the militant arm of Palestine has always been a extremist group. But if you noticed CNN’s comment on it.. they consider it a official “protest” by calling it a Fundamentalist group. It has always called for the destruction of Israel and its been proven that some of the fringe members have committed teorrist acts against citizens of Western Europe and the United States in the past..

Sad really.. whenever I read about the region.. I can not help to wonder how the hatred started..

I’m just glad to hear that other people see how preposterous the situation is. Fortunately, Israel has the far superior military intelligence and power that enable them to maintain their existence and completely dominate the situation when it comes down to all out war. On the other hand, Hamas and the numerous other anti-Israel terrorist groups will continue to terrorize Israeli life and kill off innocent people, and when Israel decideds to reclaim their land in order to protect themselves the rest of the world, including America, will undoubtably harrass Israel about their overreaction and inappropriate use of military superiority. Thanks for making the post, and please spread the word!!!

Hi Trevor! First I want to let you know I’ve put your quotes from your “Remembering the Guy Goods” post on my blog and I’ve gotten two comments, one of them from Robert Stokely, father of Mike Stokely. That was a real honor!

Second, I like the pics in the new gallery. Military gear and the people who operate it have always fascinated me. I especially like the pic of Spookytooth in his ’70’s headphones. Funny!

And lastly, Palestine confounds me, too. But so do a lot of Israelis who seem as determined to deny the real aims of Hamas and friends as the world was to deny the real aims of Hitler and friends. Sadly, the illusions that are nursed in the name of peacemaking never change. Talk to you soon. SSS!

Correction! That should read, “Remembering the Good Guys”. I always catch these typos AFTER I publish my comments!

I believe the current conflict between Israel and Palestine traces its roots to Biblical history, where Isaac and Ishmael went at it constantly. Ishmael was born from Abraham’s midwife Hagar (because Sarah could not conceive at the time) and is the father of Palestine as we know it today. Isaac was the chosen son born from Sarah (Abraham’s wife), the one whom the nation of Israel was born from and the one whom God had promised to Abraham, according to the book of Genesis.

The two sides have fought through the years and I don’t see any end to it soon.

  8. Fortunately, Mexico is no match for the United States, just as the Palestinians are no match for the Israelis, if push comes to shove.

Also, fortunately for us, the Mexicans don’t strap bombs to themselves and kill innocent people. If more attacks are imminent over there, I’m sure the Israelis will know how to react to the hostile state. God knows, they’ve got plenty of experience.

  9. Walter E. Wallis says:

Palestine is betting we will, once again, save their bacon by urging Israeli restraint just as we have been for 30 years. Now is the time to let the Palis pay the piper.Every cross border attack should cost them a 5 mile pushback.
