American freedom good for Iraq
I’m not sure I can comment effectively on the assassination of the provincial governer in northern Bagdhad today, but let me give it a shot.
First of all, I’m not there, so take anything I have to say with a grain of salt. That’s a disclaimer many of you fellow Internet loudmouths should remember. You’re not there. You don’t really know what daily life is like for the average Iraqi.
Man would I love to hear from some of them. If we are doing this in the name of true freedom as we keep claiming then my question to any Iraqi living in Iraq is this: do you have more or less freedom than you did under Saddam Hussein? Do you expect to have more freedom next year than you do this year?
First of all, I know I don’t have the whole story here, because I’m getting all my information second and third hand. But on general principles, I don’t support America’s self-appointment as world policeman. I do support our right to self-defense. Whether invading Iraq was self-defense is debatable. Saddam being a prisoner is not debatable as a genuine GoodThingTM.
In the meantime, we said January elections and initially most Iraqis were on board from what I understand. I don’t see any reason why we should change the date because of the increase in terrorism. If we did, wouldn’t that be giving in on some level to their murderous activity? You can’t reward murder unless you want to promote murder as a method for achieving reward.
But, while we’re over there promoting freedom, should we make sure we are teaching young Iraqis how to urinate into a small cup on demand? Because, you and I, as Americans, should know that a people cannot be truly free until their urine does not contain trace elements indicative of the use of officially banned substances.
Once we have trained Iraqis to line up and pee in the cup on command then they will have truly tasted the greatness of American style freedom.

You know you’re not right in the head don’t ya? Seriously, that is one of the most disturbingly prolific posts I’ve encountered in a while. I admittedly only link to the ones that appreciate us occupiers, there are others to be explored as well.

It’s well deserved. This post is a reminder that not only must we defend ourselves against those who would destroy us, but we must also be wary of those who encroach upon our liberties from within.
