Rabble rousers try to fly without ID

Some places in this country let you vote without ID. Why should you have to show ID to fly? Assuming you are not violently suicidal (99.999999% of all flyers), the only people who actually have a vested interest in your identity should be the airline from whom you purchased the contract to fly you from Point A to Point B.

Read the Great No-ID Airport Challenge. You’ll laugh and cry and clutch your ID tightly to your body as you pass through the scanner that leaves you naked to any bureaucrat who happens to be in the area…

I APPLAUD this Gilmore for this.

I recently did my tavels to two different locations and had to go through security screenings six different times.. and each time I had to pull out my ID both at the ticket counters and the security checkpoints.

After about the second time.. my mind starting thinking how silly the process is.. Airlines are a private corporations owned by stockholders and compete for customer buisness. But through the TSA and the Department of Homeland Security.. they are practically nationalized airlines.

I guess I am starting to see federal laws and practices creeping into the more popular form of travel too much.. but its still a nag to my libertarian feelings..
