Should the Dubai deal have died?

The Dubai ports deal is dead. But should it have been killed so quickly? I initially thought it sounded ill advised and soon reconsidered after reading several thoughtful opinions. Here’s another thoughtful opinion.
We should understand that the management of American ports by foreign companies is not some stark or alarming deviation from the norm. Rather, it is the norm and as such, is entirely emblematic of the nature of the global economy. Similarly, the ability of American culture and companies to pervade the cultural and economic life of other countries is part and parcel of the global economy. Autarky — never an attractive option — is now permanently out as an approach to business management; whether or not that management significantly impacts domestic security.
Perhaps we killed it too quickly, without mulling it over long enough.

Dale says:
I disagree. I am not concerned about FOREIGN COMPANIES managing the ports but FOREIGN COUNTRIES owning companies that manage the ports.I would boot China out to. Just imagine Communist Russia companies doing this 40 years ago. OR one of their satellites? Unheard of.
And I am not a globalist anyway so if the US is blocked by the UAE to manage their ports I am okay with that.
Is America no longer for Americans? Is our love of foreign companies so great?
I want America back for Americans. I am not opposed to others, I just want my country back.

Dan Cameron Rodill says:
It was killed too quickly. They should have taken the 45 days of “review.” That way all the interesting facts could have come out, like the connections that Bushes and Clintons have with UAE rulers, and the real security issues which the globalistas claim do not exist, and the UAE plans to buy out an English hi-tech firm (Doncasters?) doing critical, precision military manufacture in Ohio, and how the Bush/Clinton dealers bringing China in to West Coast ports (Chinese also with the missile tech bought or stolen under Clinton now able to hit L.A. as yet another “Free Trade Bonanza”) etc etc. This way it could be a more interesting debate than just the “more informed” MBA globalistas getting off scot free with their own brand of ignorance and naivete, playing Liberal race card, dismissing the “xenophobic nativists.” There was very good reason to delay the execution date. Lots would have come out. Maybe too much.
