This is pretty much what I suspected - once you build a muscle memory for a song I'd imagine it's hard to learn to play it in a new way. Not impossible, but different and probably more challenging. I tried Guitar Hero at a party. I found the "Easy" setting to be really easy. The "Medium" was tougher for songs I already knew how to play (which was most of them), but still pretty easy for the ones I didn't know already. Clearly my guitar playing responses were starting to interfere with my ability to handle Guitar Hero. At that point I decided to quit and never play GH again. I certainly don't want a silly game interfering with my chops! I have played guitar and guitar-related instruments for over 30 years. I tried Guitar Hero at a party.
